Junichiro Sugimoto Exhibition “Me You Others”

Gallery Morning

This event has ended.

How does a sculptor give shape to the “gentleness” of people and nature and create a work of art? Junichiro Sugimoto’s works never fail to evoke his all-encompassing spiritual pursuit of these goals.

At the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum’s “Modern Japanese Sculptors” exhibition, Sugimoto spread his sculptures made with green stone materials across the floor. The softness, warmth, and smoothness of these works seemed to call out to be touched. While sculpture exhibitions rarely allow visitors to handle their works, Sugimoto’s creations are meant not only to be seen, but experienced in a tactile way, as well.
