Nihonbijutsuin is a Japanese art academy which was established in 1898 with the aim of creating a new kind of Japanese fine arts based on the traditional arts. At the center of it was Tenshin Okakura, a major figure in the Japanese art world. After the Idzura period, it was reestablished by the members such as Taikan Yokoyama and Kanzan Shimomura in 1914, and has been producing many leading figures in the Japanese art world. The exhibition consists of about 70 pieces of works from the forefront members, the awarded artists, and the Kansai-based artists who belong to Nihonbijutsuin.
