This event has ended.

While changing names and organizations, the Nitten art exhibition sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Sports, Science, and Technology has continued for more than a century. Today it is Japan’s most historic and traditional public art exhibition. Divided into the five categories of Japanese Painting, Western Painting, Sculpture, Crafts, and Calligraphy, it introduces works by everyone from major Japanese figures to up-and-coming artists.
