This event has ended.

Since opening in 2005 the Museum of Ceramic Art, Hyogo has built an outstanding collection of ceramics stretching from the Jomon period to the present day, now under the title of the Kan Tanaka Collection. This archive of ceramics focuses upon Shigaraki-yaki ware and other historic ceramics developed within the Hyogo prefecture. The Museum endeavors to regularly extend this collection and frequently exhibits its new acquisitions to the public, taking particular care of ceramic ware from the “Six Old Kilns of Japan” and colorful ceramics which became popular from the later modern era. In addition, photographers from Japan and France have been commissioned especially for this exhibition to capture the Tamba style pottery through their photography from their respective perspectives and sensitivities.
