Ed Tsuwaki, also a leading fashion illustrator, is known for the uniquely shaped long-necked women in his paintings. In addition to recent portraits featuring thickly applied paint, this exhibition presents brand new works created in collaboration with Antique Room 702. “Panspermia,” the show’s title, refers to “the arrival on earth of micro-organism spores from another celestial body as the origin of life.” For Tsuwaki, a master of digital media, his pencil-drawn female figures have a sweet and lustrous primitivism and special mysterious vitality evocative of the future. In this exhibition he returns to his roots as an artist.
