Introducing 10 works including new pieces by Kozo Takeuchi, whose sculptures share many of the geometric forms of architecture, from urban buildings to ancient ruins, as well as their gradual weathering and break down over time.
Intrigued by a structure’s dual properties of “construction and deterioration,” Takeuchi creates works in this image through a unique process of trial and error. He smashes pieces apart – usually a taboo approach in ceramics –to achieve both creation and destruction his series “Modern Remains.” Here Takeuchi searches for further possibilities in “Modern Remain” with the new materials of wood and glass to bring out a fresh sense of excitement.
