This event has ended.

Akahada pottery comes from one of the Enshuu Seven Kilns loved by the prominent tea master Kobori Enshuu. Akahada means “red skin” and, as the name suggests, Akahada pottery has a delicate reddish color. The color of the glaze is milky white and is often decorated with Narae book paintings. This exhibition displays around 70 new works by Rakusai Onishi, an Akihada practitioner from Yamato Kooriyama who has been an official potter for Kasuga Shrine since 2006.
