This event has ended.

Influenced by university studies of sculpture, Miro Kasama’s work continues to explore gravity, depth, and other elements corresponding to the principles of objects and space. By joining together these elements perceived differently by each person, Kasama brings the boundaries separating artistic subjects to light.

“The Lion House,” the title of this exhibition, is also the name of the small building she has recently been using as a studio. She gradually made her own renovations to turn this space into a work environment, allowing the act of creating and shaping a space to function as an equivalent of artistic practice. The subject of this show is the space Kasama has curated with works created from discarded materials left over from her renovations to the Lion House. Using the memories of the building’s previous owner (whom she did not know) as a material, Kasama’s artistic vision is derived from the gaps and borders dormant within relationships between the self, others, objects, and perception.
