Over the years Nanette Carolyn Carter has been intrigued by the graceful horizontal format as it relates to landscape and nature. In the series “Earthly Winds“ she creates lyrical lines that reflect plant life and the wind. This series explores movement in a playful context.
Since 1997, Carter has worked exclusively on frosted Mylar. Mylar is an archival surface. She works with oil paint, oil sticks and pencils onto the surface with the desire to achieve the maximum luminosity, density and transparency.
