The World of Sengoku Battle Paintings
Nagahama Castle Historical Museum
This event has ended.
Starting in the Muromachi period (1392–1573), the Kohoku region of Shiga Prefecture found itself caught up in many battles, including historically significant ones fought by the clans of daimyos Nobunaga Oda and Hideyoshi Toyotomi. The Sengoku Battle Paintings from the Sengoku (Warring States) period tell the stories of these clashes, vividly depicting the appearances of samurai, the realities of their battles, and the era in which Toyotomi and his warriors lived. These works donated to the collection mark the 33rd anniversary of Nagahama Castle Historical Museum.
