This event has ended.

Teppei Sasakura, an artist acclaimed for his “landscapes of light” working across multiple genres, was born into a family of textile artisans in Sannan-cho, Tamba. From a young age he learned about dyeing practices from his father. His work in advertising design included package illustrations for famous snack food companies. Sasakura turned to painting in the 1990s, struggling to establish himself for a number of years before finding meaning as an artist in “landscapes that give people a sense of hope and calm.” Focusing on Sasakura’s oil paintings, this exhibition presents around 60 of his works, including illustrations.
