Kohei Nakamura, a second-generation Kanazawa potter and the third son of Kinpei Nakamura, was raised to have an intimate familiarity with clay from a young age. His richly creative decorative ceramic sculptures made with avant-garde techniques are held in collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, earning Nakamura international acclaim as a leading contemporary Japanese ceramicst. Twenty of Nakamura’s chawan (tea bowls) are on display in his first exhibition at a Kansai gallery.
