Born in Shimane prefecture in 1926, Mitsumasa Anno made his debut as a picture-book author at the age of 42 (in 1968) with “Fushigi na e” (“Strange Pictures”). The watercolors used in his works exude a gentle warmth that has gained him much popularity with readers. This exhibition reveals an unobstructed look into the world of this artist.
