This event has ended.

On display are original handmade and machine made embroidery works by Sayaka Miyata, a graduate of textiles from the Kyoto University of Art and Design.
In addition to the simple act of threading through a flat canvas, the technique of embroidery can be said to be the creation of a 3 dimensional piece through the build up of innumerable threads. It essentially involves the actualization of fixed and predetermined designs, as with the use of computerized sewing machines which turns embroidery into an automated process with a planned finish.
Through the “Warp” and “Knots” series that strives to incorporate the unforeseen errors and accidents, behaviors and characteristics of materials and programs used, Sayaka Miyata challenges how she can disrupt this harmony of predictability.
