In 1961, Masahiko Ichino was born into a family of potters who made traditional Tamba tea wares. Through his unique forms and modern styles, Masahiko Ichino was able to revive interest in this traditional culture and received high praise both throughout Japan and overseas. Ichino has been awarded numerous prizes, including the Paramita Museum Runner-up Prize in 2007 due to nominations from all over the country.
