This event has ended.

Yoshimi Miyamoto has been constantly working on monochrome works using light and dark, which imply “life and death” for her. Its motif varies from dried flowers to vernacular photos of woman on the Internet.Miyamoto’s new work named 《first time》 is made during her stay in Holland. This suggestive work is took from Rembrandt’s work 《Jewish Bride》, which she saw at museum in Amsterdam. In her work, trimmed masterpiece looks like as if a woman wearing Kimono crosses her hands around her belly, however, these hands are actually that of man and woman.”I find something magical when I draw something dead. I want to give them a new life through my creation. My work is about a destiny of life and death, seeing from a viewpoint of light and dark”, Miyamoto says.In this exhibition, we exhibit 6 collective works including new work. Please enjoy her mysterious monochrome world of light and dark.
