Bordering the Netherlands, Germany and France, Belgium is often referred to as the “crossroads of Europe” and has been strongly influenced by its surrounding cultures. To commemorate 150 years of friendship between Japan and Belgium, the Himeji City Museum of Art showcases a selection of Belgian modern art, from 4 different movements: from Realism to Impressionism, Symbolism, Expressionism, and Surrealism.
Seventy or so impressive works have been selected, mostly from the collection at Himeji City Museum of Art.
