The Japanese people have had a deep love for calligraphy since ancient times. This exhibition presents hanging scrolls of elegant hiragana calligraphy from the Heian through Kamakura eras and powerful bokuseki (Zen) calligraphy from the Kamakura through Edo periods displayed for the tea ceremony.
