Nitten: The Japan Fine Arts Exhibition

Begun as the First Ministry of Education Art Exhibition in 1907, the Nitten has the longest history of any public art contest in Japan. It introduces outstanding works by masters and new artists alike in five categories: Japanese Style and Western Style Painting, Sculpture, Craft as Art and Calligraphy. This Osaka exhibition features 247 works by Nitten member artists and prize winners, plus 341 works by those residing in Osaka, Hyogo, Nara, and Wakayama.
