These are paintings about reading aloud. Our own voices touch the page when we read out loud, our breath and saliva reaching the paper and seeping into the words and books themselves. It’s as if our voices remain within these texts. To express this, the artist made audiotapes of voices reading, then crushed these tapes into powder to make paint. These works created from this “voice paint” are filled with the words and books they have absorbed.
