“Deku” are wooden figures or dolls which have served many purposes over time; used in Ancient Egypt and China in burials, and in Japan to pray for safe childbirth. This exhibition showcases the different characteristics of a large scope of dolls from African Gods and masks to Japanese Kokeshi dolls and wooden Korean “Mogu” dolls and figurines.
