Ayako Takemoto curates All Night Haps 2017, a series of shows by four artists exploring themes of “hunting,” “livestock,” “slaughter/dissection,” and “processing/consumption.” The first exhibition presents video by Ami Inoue, who earned a rifle hunting license after her grandfather gave up the practice following the Great East Japan Earthquake. She now hunts in the mountains of Kyoto. Her footage coolly documents the ordinary and extraordinary in hunters’ lives.
