This event has ended.
2017 is the 150th anniversary of birth of the great novelist Soseki Natsume(1867-1916). On this occasion, Asahi Beer Oyamazaki Villa Museum presents publically for the first time a letter the author sent to Oyamazaki Villa owner Shotaro Kaga (1888-1954) suggesting names for the villa. Natsume’s diary and works by the painter Seifu Tsuda, who visited the villa with Natsume, also shed light on the writer’s final visit to Kyoto. Also exhibited is “Rankafu”, a series of botanical woodblock prints depicting orchids cultivated by Kaga. *Displayed works will be alternated during the exhibition.
