This event has ended.

Yasutake Iwana was born in 1987 in Mie. After graduating from Seian University of Art and Design, he studied as a guest student at Art Akademie Düsseldorf, Germany. Iwana returned home in 2013 and organized the art group “Mitsunoki” in Shimagahara village, a movement to encourage local village art in Shimagahara. He took part as a member of “Depopulated areas Societz” in Shimagahara village in 2017, and created a new expression of painting to represent the young generation. Yasutake Iwana expresses the narrative of a village with the motif of prayers and the original scenery of Shimagahara. He discovered the anthology titled “The Seven Blooms” which was published in 1927 by the youth of seven villages at that time. He received inspiration from the contents of editing ‟Why do young farm men move away from the village?” in 1927, and painted the depth of the human heart beyond the times. Shown in this exhibition is a world full of poetic rhythm through his latest oil painting works, “The Seven Blooms.”
