A recent graduate from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Hiroka Yamashita presents her first ever exhibition in Japan. Yamashita’s work captures humanity from the perspective of cultural anthropology. Often, it comes from daily routines which includes both interaction with others as well as activities most people engage in. In addition, her work can reflect Japanese conventions, ceremonial behaviors and folklore, having roots in Shintoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism.
