This event has ended.

Held at both Yoshimi Arts and The Three Konohana, this exhibition introduces Shigeru Izumi, a leading figure of contemporary art in Kansai in the late 20th Century. Osaka-born Shigeru Izumi set up the avant-garde group ‘Democratic Artists Association’ in 1951 and around this time started to produce print works, moving around New York and Paris for the next ten years and being strongly influenced by Western art scenes.
This exhibition casts a spotlight on Izumi’s paintings from the 70s when he returned to Japan after his ten years abroad. As most of his exhibitions focus on his print works, this is a fascinating glimpse into his expressions as a painter.
