This event has ended.

Manga artist Shigeru Mizuki departed this world at the age of 93 on November 30th, 2015. In addition to authoring series such as “Gegege no Kitaro,” “Akuma-kun,” and “Kappai no Sanpei,” Mizuki was an acclaimed “yokai scholar” who furthered the special culture of Japanese phantoms, fairies, and ghouls. With the full support of Mizuki Production, this exhibition takes an extensive look at the career of this human artist, presenting his drawings from childhood, sketches from WWII battlefields, and rare original manuscripts of manga and yokai illustrations published in post-war kashi-hon (rental books). More than 130 works demonstrate Mizuki’s outstanding skill and message as an artist.
