Ryukoku Museum presents Buddhist treasures and gorgeous cultural assets from Honwangji Temple in honor of a ceremony passing down the teachings of Pure Land Buddhism to the 25th head monk. Some 200 displays include teachings passed down since the Edo period, Pure Land artwork from Tohoku, Hokuriku, and other regions across Japan, and the literary National Treasures “36 Persons’ Anthologies” and transcripts of ancient poetry.
