While Taiwan has a strong interest in Japanese culture and manga, the contexts of Taiwanese manga culture are relatively unknown in Japan. This exhibition introduces the contexts and history of original Taiwanese manga from the postwar era through the present that have not received much recognition in Japan. It also for the first time in Japan tells the full story of how Taiwanese manga developed in its own unique way with Japanese influence.
