Itsuki Kaito, a Ph.D. candidate at Kyoto City University of Arts specializing in painting, creates contemporary myth-like stories and characters that appear in on-canvas scenes depicting imaginary worlds resembling digital spaces. Her works harken back to mythical teachings being lost in today’s society while overcoming resistance to digital expressions in contemporary oil painting. This exhibition presents works featuring her “Amazones” character in tales of mysterious fates.
