This is the sixth in a series of exhibitions at the Hosomi Museum that feature themes inspired by the rich variety of artworks comprising the Hosomi Collection. This exhibition focuses on the plants of autumn, a common theme in Japanese art. Autumn plants have a grace and delicacy that compliments the love of change and transience that the Japanese people have shared throughout the ages. They were thus featured not only in literature, but also in painting and the applied arts.
Visitors are invited to celebrate the coming of autumn by viewing designs with charming plants such as bush clovers, Pampas grasses, Chinese bellflowers, patrinias, chrysanthemums, as well as maple leaves.
