A special exhibition of works from the museum collection by Ayako Miyawaki, a postwar applique artist who specialized in painting on cloth. Demonstrating a superb design sense, her warm, humorous, and lively paintings transforming old cloths into works of art feature motifs of gardens, fish, flowers, and other subjects of everyday inspiration. Works from throughout her career are exhibited.
