“Nature ∩ Art” brings together three contemporary artists to explore the meaning of artistic activity within the realm of nature, and the representation of nature within the realm of art. The three artists on display all make use of natural materials as their medium - fire, stone, soil, iron, wood, found objects, and so on. Nature in this context is not the picnic-variety; not the nature of aesthetic appreciation and recreation, but the nature that human beings have no choice but to effect change upon for the sake of their very existence; the nature that is our given environment.
The artists of this exhibition, who continue to exert their creative intent as they waver in the gap between subjective and objective, intent and unintended consequence, will and fate, will provide viewers with the opportunity to reconsider the relation between the natural world and our various human endeavors.
