Museum in The Mie area

The Mie Prefectural Art Museum opened its doors to the public in September 1982. Since then, the museum has focused on acquiring paintings from Japan with modern-western influences and analyzing how Japanese society modernized into the contemporary. There are also 5000 works by local Mie artists along with library resources and references. The museum also maintains and preserves artworks for the future generations.

Closed on Mondays
Note:If Monday is a National Holiday, the museum will be open on Monday but closed the following Tuesday. Closed on days following National Holidays. Closed 12/29-1/3.

Fee

Adults ¥300, College - High School Students ¥200, Junior High - Elementary School Students - Seniors Free. Special Exhibition Fees may be charged separately.
