This event has ended.

Across the Meiji, Taisho and Showa periods Osaka saw the rise of numerous examples of leading modern architecture, and while in recent years these have become the subject of re-examination, there is also the increase in cases in which these structures are rebuilt in various redevelopments programs. Amongst this trend has come to emerge various experiments in assimilating the design and materials of architecture of the yesteryear into the new constructions of today. In response to this the Osaka Museum of History has brought together an exhibition featuring key examples of architectural features of the modern period, including stained glass, terracotta tiles and various other materials which may be in danger of becoming lost in the grip of continuous development.
