Nature provides abundant blessings, but also causes great damage at times through earthquakes, torrential rains, and other disasters. Human beings form societies by living in such environments while cultivating awareness of their regions’ histories and cultures. Focusing on the history of earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters in the Omi region, this exhibition introduces the history and lifestyles of the Omi people, who have lived with and confronted nature’s violent threat.
