Akitoshi Yamada, who has visited many towns and villages while living in France for more than 30 years, paints landscapes of interwoven light and shadow that captivate him. The colors and shapes of these works transform so that the images that first appear evolve into drastically different forms. Still, these quiet works tinged with loneliness contain truths about the world.
