Gary McLeod continues his exploration of the Japanese landscape, this time capturing images of a virtual Osaka on the internet. The images are displayed on seven LCD frames on three of the gallery's four walls. A small window on the fourth wall allows us to see and hear the outside world. Each image is revealed and covered up randomly through th edisplays' software, removing the control of our gaze. The gallery is lit by the LCD displays and the natural light entering through the small window. The latter creates a wonderful 'camera obscura' effect that spans most of the gallery; and ties the exhibition back to the foundation of seeing and the origins of photography.
