At this exhibition, tools that represent Edo culture will be on display featuring "Sagemono (tools carried around the waist)", such as "Inroh (a samurai's pillbox)" and various tools that enriched people's lives.
An artist's taste and financial power can be seen through their material choice and design selection in the details of "Raden (traditional decoration created by grinding and thinning the pearl quality of a shell)", various inlaying, "Tsuishu (painting many layers of lacquer with oil and carving a pattern)" of the "Makie (lacquer mark)" of the "Inroh (Netsuke, Ojime)".
The exhibition will show Edo culture's symbolic small and beautiful craftwork through "Makie"; the Japanese original craft technology.
