Shinichiro Kobayashi "Last Factory"
Osaka Nikon Salon
This event has ended.
Since the intensive change of Tokyo bay area in the 1980's, Shinichiro Kobayashi has traveled to ruins all over Japan and directed the lens to ongoing construction sites. Mines and factories are the witnesses of Japanese economical development through the Meiji, Taisho and Showa eras. Abandoned spaces, where decaying iron pieces, unnumbered ducts and old machine parts covered with moss lay, sleep quietly containing the beauty of intricate color and detail.
This exhibition features 50 original color prints from "Last Factory" (published by Magazine House). The photographs capture unexpected beauty that abandoned factories possess.
