Akiko Fujimoto "Before a Passion Burns Out... / The Shape of Life, the Voice of Paper"
Dot Art Cosmo Gallery
This event has ended.
Akiko Fujimoto has mostly focused on installation works that she calls "Life Works." The title has two meanings; one is its original meaning of a lifelong work, and the second is her own interpretation of "works made with life (soul)." Natural materials such as sunflowers, moss, flower seeds, driftwood, bark, cast-off skins of cicadas, and Japanese paper, are able to decompose themselves back to earth. By using such materials, Fujimoto expresses the inevitable cycle of life and death.
This exhibition, "Before a Passion Burns Out..." includes works exhibited in the "The Shape of Life, The Voice of Paper" exhibition that took place in Paris in June 2007, accompanied by Fujimoto's latest pieces.
