The National Museum of Art Osaka 30th Anniversary Symposium "Unfinished Past, Last 30 Years of Art"

The National Museum of Art, Osaka

This event has ended.

This year is the 30th Anniversary of The National Museum of Art Osaka. NMAO organized a symposium in 2005 titled "Reconsidering the Savage Modern: Post War Japanese Art History", which aimed to examine the art flow from the Gutai Group to the Osaka Expo. The current symposium "Unfinished Past" has been organized to cover the last 30 years of art. Five topics for this symposium is divided into two: the issues of multiculturalism in "Asia", "Subculture" and "Gender" sessions; and the issues of social system over museums in "International exhibition" and "Museums" sessions.
These topics, the "worn out" ideas, are now facing the necessities of reconsideration, and this is a significant opportunity with various field's specialists.
