Kousuke Adachi "Rakuchu-rakugaikei"

Osaka Nikon Salon

poster for Kousuke Adachi "Rakuchu-rakugaikei"

This event has ended.

In the 16th century, Karino School artists painted Kyoto street scenes onto what is now known as the "Rakuchu-rakugai-zubyobu" painted folding screen. There are scenes of tourists visiting famous spots, enjoying the Gion Festival, relaxing by the Kamogawa River, and scenes not too different from the 21st century, all seen from a bird's-eye view. This artist decided to record the same activities and scenes using a method that didn't exist in those times, photography. 30 color photographs.
