Tessai's sketch books are filled with sketches and drafts of still lifes as well as imitations of drawings by other artists. The books exhibited reveal the artist's inspirations for his drawings and stylistic elements. For this exhibition, there will be color photographs of Tessai's sketchbooks on display along with other reference sources.
