Taku Aramasa Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Gallery OUT of PLACE
Media: Photography, Art Party, Art Talk
Taku Aramasa has produced many documentary works including the portraits of war orphans in China "Who Am I?" (1990). Through his work, he constantly questions the Japanese identity.
This exhibition features the series "Promised Land/America". For the series, Aramasa frequented Japanese American internment sites.
By initiating questions such as, "what is it like to live away from 'home' as an immigrant?" and "what are the outcomes of the war?", "Promised Land" tells the immigrants' history through a subtle yet powerful manner.
