"Takarazuka, the Eternal Ballard- From Ribbon Knight to the Rose of Versailles" Exhibition
Takarazuka City Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum
This event has ended.
Inspired by Takarazuka performances, Osamu Tezuka created the "Ribbon no Kishi (the Ribbon Knight)," which established the foundation for the sho-jo manga genre. Sho-jo manga, manga aimed for teenage girls, eventually gained much popularity. "The Rose of Versailles" by Rieko Ikeda, another manga based on a Takarazuka performance, became a major success too. Original cartoons will also be on display.
