"From February until April in 2007, I had an opportunity to do a residency at an artist-run space called Algarden in Boras, Sweden. In my work, I constantly question the everyday act of seeing and other actions we take. During my stay, the experience of being a foreigner inspired me to produce an installation work titled 'sightseeing' in Algarden. After returning to Japan, I produced an installation work titled 'souvenir', using documentation from the trip, visual memories, and the CAP house space itself. I hope this exhibition gives viewer an imaginary experience of a trip, much like when hearing another's travel escapades."
