Before going out, the process of applying make up, and changing from pajamas to work clothes heightens her energy level. Through the artist's eyes, this process seemed like a ritual that prepared the female subject to enter another world. Photographer Nishimura documents this evolution through the camera.
However, the artist remembers deeply when the female subject said, "I am alive." Nishimura focused on her tattoos, burns, scars from cutting herself, anxiety, and nervousness - as she applied her daily make up.
The exhibition features a one year and a half document on the female subject, and the relationship that is established between the object and the subject.
