The photographs are the visual diaries of the female photographer, Yoko Yamamoto, who has been holding aesthetic sessions with geishas for twenty-four years.
She has lived in the geisha community of Kagurazaka, in the center of
Tokyo, and has dedicated her artistic life to trying to reflect and
broaden public appreciation for the aesthetic world of Japanese geisha.
