In Namikawa's works, red, green and blue rise out of the black and dark navy backgrounds, bordered by frames decorated in beautiful gold and silver lines. His flower and bird designs have an illusionary atmosphere, drawing people into another world. Even though the pieces were made more than 100 years ago, they look as if they were created only today. He was particularly attentive to the beauty of lines and upgraded Shippo cloisonne from a craft to an art form.
